A stroke penalty for every 15 seconds over 30 seconds for a put.
I'd love that but have you seen how long tiger takes over a putt? He's untouchable so it would fall at the first hurdle.
It is so entrenched in the pro game, amateurs copying, that I can see it is going to need clocks on each holes with a countdown to get players out of the habit. Depressing viewing.

We can’t solely blame the pro game for slow play.
It’s mostly on paid viewing now and not getting exposure to youngsters enough.
The problem in the Am game is faffing. A slightly long routine is preferable to wasted time if the person takes less shots.

Exactly. As long as everyone in my group is playing ready golf it’s all good. We only play honours in match play comps.
