Thank you very much my son and thank you to William Hill Bookmakers who will be paying out shortly.

Well done indeed, lovely to see a driver who has actually had to work for what they have win, a truly deserving victory.

I was going to start a thread but didn't want to spoil it for anybody who hadn't seen the race yet.... :D
But a great win and let's hope it's the first of many Jon

I cant see that there is anything wrong with the diffuser, simply that certain teams are pi$$ed off that they didnt invent it.

If it wasnt within the regulations I dont think Brawn would have even designed it. There arent many people more shrewd and skilled than Ross Brawn and I for one dont believe for a minute that he would let this happen.

Well done Jenson, good to see some real emotion in winning unlike Mr Hamilton who is a trained media puppet when he wins.

Gotta say the Brawn car looks like they applied the primer but forgot to add the top coat of paint? Not a thing of beauty!

On a slightly cynical note does this not just prove that whomever has the fastest car wins and who the actual driver is doesn't really matter?

The thing is, I have always said that Button is one of the finest drivers in F1.

He showed his class today when on the soft tyre, others struggled but with Buttons laid-back and smooth driving style, his tyres didnt deteriorate to the extent of those of the likes of Rosberg who hammered his in no times.

Button also said that he struggled on the medium tyre as he couldnt get them consistently hot enough, the performance is again credit to his style, he is smooth through corners and blends the power in allowing the car to turn itself out of the corner also. Compare that to the likes of Fisichella, Massa, Raikkonen who are always fighting the back-end of the car and you can see why button did well. He is getting a better drive out of the corners than the guys booting it and then fighting oversteer and loss of traction.

So Glad to see Hamilton not winning, I have no time for him whatsoever, he is basically Ron Dennis' little puppet and hasnt had to work for anything throughout his career. When other kids were turning up at kart events in dads's Sierra and kipping in tents, mr Golden Boy and his dad were living in a McLaren sponsored Mobile Palace. He has the had the best of everything since day 1 and now he hasnt, lets see how long before he cracks on the track or indeed spits his dummy out at McLaren.

Button has really showed his class, he stayed loyal to Honda, could have left when Honda finished as he had offers on the table both in europe and in the states. Brawn took over and Button had to take a £15m pay cut or leave, he again showed his loyalty and today, delivered the goods with a fine drive.

They all couldn't lace Senna's boots.

Andy

I am a big Senna admirer.

Would have loved to see Senna and Schumacher in evenly matched equipment to see just who would have been the best.

As statistics go, Schumacher is the greatest ever F1 Driver but when you look at the achievement of Senna, such as his heroics at rain-soaked donnington when he was losing 4secs against dry times whilst others were losing 15, and his performances in inferior equipment, senna was truly the greatest.

Agreed. If Senna's unfortunate death had not happened, then I think Schumacher would just be another driver.

Plus all todays drivers rely far too much on technical help, whereas Senna wanted the lot removed.

you mean Nigel Mansell (just because he didn't win as many world Championships as Senna) he was the only driver to be summend by Enzo Ferrari to drive for them.

As good as Mansell was, he wasnt anywhere near Senna.

Remember Mansells only world championship came in a car that was infinately better than anything else on the grid, with the gadgets on the car a trained monkey could have won that world title.

Cynical? No, Birdieman. You've hit the nail on the head! How can a driver who had no hope 12 months ago suddenly be the best?
Anyway, I'm pleased for Button and Hamilton. I've only taken an interest in this sport in the last year due to the hatred (yes, hatred) of young Lewis in the Spanish press.
Come on Jensen and Lewis, show the brat Alonso his place!

I know enough from what I learned from my dad. He worked for Ilmor racing engines, who make engines for mercedes-benz for their F1 and Indy teams.

Mansells car was why he won the title, fact.

When he had the best car in Indycar, he romped the title is his rookie year, and then along came the new combination of the Penske chassis with the new Mercedes-Benz engines and he became an also-ran.

Jesus Jon, let it go. To suggest that Hamilton hasn't had to work is blinkered to the point of stupidity. He is a brilliant race driver and consequently was picked up by a premier racing team as a talent. I think you'll find it's what every football team does. It's called scouting.

He started stone last in a car that was 2 seconds slower than the leaders and still managed to come 3rd. If you can't recognise talent like that and acknowledge the kid is a bloody great racer then I'm afraid you're a blinkered idiot. You don't have to like him to appreciate what he can do. Personally, I can't stand Alonso but I'll gladly acknowledge his ability as a racer.

Happy for Jenson - I mean how could you not be? He has always had the look of a bloke that knows he has a brilliant job and really enjoys it. Can't fault him and I'd love to see both British boys tearing the circuit up this season.

As for the race, do we think MacLaren would have been unpunished if their drivers had done what Barrichello got away with during the race? Not bloody likely! And how comes Vettel is always considered to be to blame for collisions? Massa spanked him last year and apparently it was Vettel's fault and Kubica shunts him today and again it's Vettel to blame. Must be sleeping with the wrong person!

that's why Senna drove for Williams, because it was the best car at that time :D
