Anyone else watching this? he was 5 up on the turn, now 1 up.
He missed the fairway then the comes up short in the desert short of the green with his second. He then badgers the ref to give him a free drop from a sprinkler head that he was going to hit if he used a left handed swing, wasnt happy that he was going towards the green and decides that he wanted to hit it at the bunker, then a sprinkler would be impeeding him so got another free drop and then nearly thins it through the green from a good lie. Good on Bubba for keeping his nerve and winning the hole and forcing it onto the 19th.

Just pleased that game is all over.. As for Holmes wanting his own way when it comes to free drops, he's no different to any other golfer. If it had been Mickelson asking the questions, no-one would have mentioned it. But thats because Mickelson has a personality a bit of class and doesn't take ages to play a shot.

Saw JB in the Wednesday ProAm up at the Scottish open last year. Arrived on the Tee last second and mullered a driver straight down the middle that just went miles.

Hard player to like due to his slow coach play, I have to believe he would benefit from speeding up. Quite glad Bubba won the match, means I may see the last shot tonight before falling asleep!

I like the way Watson pointed out to them that were out of line for the drop on their 19th.

Also how he said to his caddy if I'm gonna lose let's have some fun, before swinging through some big grass on his backswing and hitting off the desert and half through a bush right next to his ball, instead of taking a penalty drop because Holmes was bang in trouble too.

I was surprise that at first the commentators said he was taking an unplayable when he only took a club length( initially) so a free drop not a 2 club for an extra penalty

I am glad bubba won, he seems to have a personality. jb was looking for a cheap drop 2nd time imo. I too liked that bubba opened his mouth and put him in his place for the drop, I think I had a post about holmes rountine before, i could make breakfast, have coffee and and shower before he finished his routine and hit the ball!! how is he not on the clock from the start??

That pre putt routine is plain and simple OTT, when he hits his putts, he is pretty quick, its the HooHaa before it he could well do without.

Just sat down with a brew to watch it and even though ive seen him play 2 holes its already beginning to bug the shite out of me....

It was a bit farcical. How you can claim that a small plastic bit of pipe is impeding your swing because you are gonna play left handed with a right handed set of clubs is beyond me. It's not exactly like he was gonna be accurate with this left handed swing. The impeding your swing rule can only surely apply if you are playing the shot you would normally play if the obstruction wasn't there and your normal swing cannot be a shot played with the club upside down.

Personally I think the rule is being misinterpreted by the referees, if that were a rabbit scraping he wouldn't get a drop because in that situation you only get a drop if there isn't another obstacle, such as a bush, isn't also impeding your swing. Why should this be any different. if you hit your ball in the cabbage, you should get punished, end of
