Jaws scene/scars/injuries

My experiences, for what it's worth ......

Chiropractor.
1st visit 20 mins to find out problem and start treatment. Cracking spine and neck. Recommended return in 3/4 days for follow up. Same treatment but 10/15 minutes. Recommended 6 further weekly treatments followed by monthly "preventative" sessions.

Needless to say, I didn't return for the 3rd and follow up sessions as I had the distinct impression that they were more concerned with an ongoing income from me rather than my wellbeing.

Osteopath.
Top notch guy who I got to know through my sister in law who worked part time for him. Taught at the British School of Osteopathy and treated several high profile athletes. He would work on the problem over a few sessions until it was resolved. Never suggested follow up sessions. Took time and care at every session and was not afraid to refer patients back to their GP's if he found an underlying medical problem (cancer for instance) that he couldn't deal with.

Physios.
If I've got a muscular/skeletal problem, our sports physio at the rackets club is now 1st port of call. Up to an hour 1st visit for assessment and initial treatment usually followed up by maybe 1 or 2 further appointments for (say) massage and ultrasound. The difference is that rather than suggesting a series of treatment, they suggest exercises to do to alleviate the problem. They will usually leave it up to the patient to book further sessions if the patient thinks it necessary.

Now, if I think that physio will help the problem, then that's where I'll go. If I think that that isn't going to work, then it's the Osteopath.

Chiropractor? Not on your nelly.
