Has anyone seen the new rebrand ?
Looks like they have dumped a whole load of history and tradition.
Going to be interesting from here on out..

Read a snippet saying “we know the rebrand won’t appeal to the majority of our traditional customers…”

Alienating the majority of your customer base is a strategy these days?

They better hope that they attract a load of new ones sharpish if they want to survive a heavily saturated market place.

Havent they stopped selling cars for the next 2 or 3 years?
Seems a good way for people to forget you, plus I don't imagine the dealerships are overly happy either.

Just seen the advert - a bunch of oddly dressed strange looking people and no sign of a car.

Shame - it was a great brand once upon a time.

Speaking as the owner of a 2010 Jaguar XF 3 litre diesel I’m a bit concerned for the survival of the marque.

I can see the need to go electric / hydrogen, but they are competing against so many other brands that a complete re start is either very very brave, or very very foolish as I don’t see much middle ground.

Be interesting to see the new models, but to succeed, they will need to stand out big time

Just another example of our descending into another dark age.
If humanity lasts another 1000 years, we may have another renaissance.
Those of us here now, however, are pretty much screwed.

I don't like the jumble of upper and lower case
Jag logo.jpg
but this comes from a parent company that uses
TATA logo.pngas its name.

The decision to produce only electric cars is possibly an attempt to streamline production costs for a very small market-demand compared to its (TATA's) massive global market.
One has to remember that North America, South America and Europe combined is a fairly static 2 billion people and and Asia is 4 billion people and rising.
The importance we (UK) people attach to this is perhaps exaggerated in the global scheme of things, but we don't have to like it.

Whenever an iconic symbol / brand changes it is always jarring. I liked the old symbol, there was something classical about it, but maybe that was also a problem? Modern branding for a new era........

The reality is that Jaguar cars as they stand now just aren't selling in acceptable numbers. They make good cars but people just aren't interested in buying them.
What are the options? To carry on as they are, and potentially go bust, or they try to rebrand themselves and keep the image going. People see the Jaguar brand as one for older people and so not fashionable.
There are plenty of car manufacturers who have gone to the wall because they didn't change, or they thought they could rely on their history to continue. That just isn't happening these days.
Look at all the new brands for eletric cars coming through that are outselling Jaguar. The trouble is there are a few knock-on effects from this.
  • Dealers who will be left hanging, and may never come back.
  • The second hand values of Jaguars could plummet as people are reluctant to purchase a car that may have limited support going forwards.
Looking at what is happening, it seems Jaguar are going to be aiming for the higher end market rather than mainstream.

It might reduce the theft of Range Rovers anyway, as they’re part of the same group. Most folk wont want to be seen dead in one from now on. :ROFLMAO:

The new bespoke logo, written as JaGUar, has "seamlessly blended upper and lower case characters in visual harmony", the company said.

Er…..no.

I really wasn't a fan of the current logo, is the tigers head .. I loved the jaguar emblem on the bonnet tho

I don’t think a re brand was required more like pragmatism needed to be introduced.
The concept of making money was lost and the place was overly influenced by attribute teams and designers who were not aware of what they were spending or the consequences of their decisions.

So changing a badge is not going to fix the cultural issues.

I would say if they don’t get an evoque out they will die.
