Day 1 in Heaven and apparently she's already up for eviction.....
I dont know what the beef is about the publicity though I can understand the media field day mentality being annoying.
As far as missing the point is concerned, I think lots of people miss the point because they are too negative towards something so positive. I dont care how much publicity JG got and I dont care that people who go missing dont get as much press, nor do I care that because of this some soldiers dont get much of a look in. The thing is this young mother knew she only had a few short weeks or months to live, she could have sued the NHS but didn't, she could have cashed in in bigger ways than the public have witnessed but didn't, her plight raised awareness in the cancer field, she knew she wasn't going to be around for her children, just what would any of you do with that certain knowledge?
People who die suddenly, by accident or conflict take on board various degrees of risk in everything they do and have choices! This doesnt make their death any more pleasent but it is so far away from the knowledge of certain death within a time scale and having such a short time to do something with that time they have left, with NO choices, to change the outcome.
I would rather have seen arguments from Cancer sufferers in the same boat not getting the media attention they all richly deserve rather than complaints about the accidental death tally or the soldier death toll.
If the press covered every death by accident, stupidity, neglect, or every soldiers death in detailed account,, or every cancer death, the daily newspaper on your doorstep would weigh about 100kilo and the similar TV coverage would mean 24/7 news bullitins just listing the dead.
