Saw the first one. Fell asleep in the cinema watching the second one and then gave up on them. A couple of actors have dined out on the franchise for almost 40 years.

I saw the original at the cinema, the film I was going to see was full, so went into Star Wars instead and really enjoyed it, but I haven't seen any of the others.

I’m another one who has only seen the original, but can’t really recall much of it. I haven’t seen any of the other Star Wars, no Star Trek movies, only the TV shows. No lord of the rings, no Harry Potter or alien films. No intention of watching them either.
I have seen 2001 space odyssey at the cinema when it was released.

I watched one of the later ones yesterday on Amazon, can’t remember what it was called but I got bored very quickly and it was just on in the background in the end and I couldn’t answer a single question about it, other than Harrison Ford was in it.

I liked the early ones but what I watched for a bit yesterday was rank.

Watched them all many times - love them , even the Phantom Menance I enjoyed - Rogue One was superb and fitted nicely into the story. Also LoTr and Hobbit and Harry Potters - all on boxsets and books which are watched regularly- just an enjoyable watch

Not only have I never seen Star Wars but I have never looked at 1 of the 455 pages of the Article 50 thread - I am so proud.

Always been a massive fan of the original films, I remember as a kid hanging upside down from a tree using "the force" to try and levitate a branch on the ground into my hand. Thought the middle three were properly naff apart from the very last scene where Luke is given to his uncle (major lump in throat moment). Last couple feel the same as the new Star Trek films, kinda not quite right somehow, I can't put my finger on it.

Nope! Never seen any of them!

Last film I saw at a cinema was about 1970 - "Girl in my soup" with Goldie Hawn and Peter Sellers! I know how to live :D !

I know it's sad but I have never seen The Sound of Music either!

Sorry about the inappropriate abundance of exclamation marks but I have been somewhat influenced by Foxy's posts! Although, come to think of it, he did actually manage to finish a sentence the other day with a full stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just watch Star Wars, Empire strikes back and Return of the Jedi, the other ones are crap and should never have been made.

The story needed telling, unfortunately it just wasn’t done very well.
The new lot seem ok. Rogue one may have been the best film in its own right, but benefited from not being weighed down by the greater narrative.

Hated them, ever since I was forced to take my younger brother to see the original when my parents made an error in trying to get tickets to see Every Which Way But Loose, the film I actually wanted to see. The only one I've watched since then is Rogue One when the company took us to a private screening (I work with a lot of geeks). It was just as bad as the first one, didn't enjoy it at all.

Even if you don't like Star Wars there can be some great things to see at the cinema. Hugely diverse offerings and going can be great fun. Try it. Mark it as something to do in 2018.

I am another one who has not been to the cinemas since a long time ago in a far away galaxy.

I really miss the big cinema experience and the last film I saw at one was Independence Day. The modern multi screen cinemas I find far too loud and you cannot get far enough away from the screen (hurts my eyes). Last time I went a multi screen complex was to watch The Towering Inferno.

I am an avid watcher of films but my watching is now confined to the joys of my own sofa with a bottle wine and a control with a pause button.

i went to the cinema to see the first one when i was 15, at that time it was the most amazing film i'd ever seen. other things interested me by the time the ESB and ROTJ came out so didn't see those till the 90s. ESB i think in the best of them TBH. more plot holes and annoying characters in all the others. i always though the first film was a was a good stand alone film all the other appear to be an after though and cashing in on the firsts success. My wife loves them all and i will be dragged along tonight to see the new one

Gonna buck the trend a little, and say..

While the 'prequels' are not great films and not a patch on the original 3, they should all be watched in order, to provide the full story.

The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
Rogue one
Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Force Awakens
The Last Jedi
