It sickens me that I was correct!

I just wonder if posters would be so prolific in their religious condemnation if instead of Hougie it had been a Mohamid saying the same things. It would probably have been labled hate crime.

There is nothing that I've posted on this thread that I wouldn't be happy to post no matter who stuck up for religion. I don't believe in ANY religion and happy to tell anyone. I also, feel that any church of any religion where child abuse is proven that the perpetrator, anyone who knows it happened and didn't report it, and anyone further up the ladder who ignores it - they should all be prosecuted and also stripped of any official titles !

I agree with that but some posts here have been rather crude on their condemnation of religion. The churches do not support these actions so in my opinion it's unfair for some to use biased condemnation against someone because they hold religious views. If an abuser had been a member of the national trust would that suggest they would be somehow complicit.

And yet they have spent millions of dollars/pounds/marks etc covering them up

Have you read Deuteronomy 21:18-21?

Let me help

GOD said:
If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, ‘This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.’ 21 Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

So on one hand the bible considers stoning to death to be suitable punishment for a glutton and a drunkard and yet on the other hand, raping a child is absolved with 5 minutes in the confession box.
