For goodness sake I didn't mean it literally.
oh sorry, I read the words and literally took it literally. Thats the trouble with just reading words, you can't tell what you really mean.......literally
For goodness sake I didn't mean it literally.
theres always bays in hedge end free but they are £7 for 100 balls
Now a member and the Chandlers ford golf academy, balls are not as good, the bays point at a weird angle but the staff are very friendly and the prices are great! Those last two more than make up for the first two.
They did have a really fit ginger girl working there a few years ago though!! she would be an incentive to re-visit!!
I've been to Chandlers Ford, it's a weird set up. Like swinging a club in a garden shed. The shop seemed pretty well stocked though and they did a cracking bacon sandwich.
I've been to hedge end also. I'm not a fan, you can't see the end of the range on the bottom deck. which is obviously a problem when you monster the ball like me

I've been to Chandlers a few times, you can see the ball finish but agree the bays feel very odd. Southampton lacks a decent driving range, they all have their plus points but also have their bad points too.
I am going to be a regular now, two nights a week is the plan. Trying to get the game in order without shelling out hundreds of pounds on range balls. Its practically on my doorstep in my new place and I can get to it within 15 minutes from work if I leave before 4.40
I want to get this old swing back!

The range I am going to start going to is fairly busy between 6 and close in the evenings. Its dirt cheap, less than half the price of the higher quality range further down the M27. It is quiet before 6 as the rush hour traffic makes getting to it a nightmare!
It does however ave a strange setup where the bays all poing about 15 degrees to the left so its very hard to feel how you are lined up as the bays are very narrow and high sided. You feel you are just hitting at the left hand side fence rather than the end. I guess it was built with the weekend slicer in mind.
Thankfully after not having swung a club only a few times this year (one prior range trip) I happily made use of all the space to the right hand side![]()
Welcome back SB - give me a shout if you are back home anytime
The local range fills up Friday night before a decent weekend
At the other end of the range were three younger guys bashing balls all over the place, thumping the roof, bouncing off the steel uprights, clubs flying unto the range, shouting and roaring.
