hes getting there but the above line is my favourite statement
I'm a believer that you could basically learn to swing a club out of a book. Crazy as it seems if you can just apply the laws of physics to your swing then the ball will go in the right direction. People think they know stuff when really they're just making it up, speculation and hearsay are RIFE in the realms of the golfing world both at higher and lower levels. People tweak their swings one way or another without a clue what they're doing and look for many quick fixes to cover the real faults in their swing... sometimes people will listen to anybody without regard of what the knock-on effect of that advice will be, and then their swing just develops a whole new set of faults.
Write down what you KNOW about the swing and see just how adept you are to hitting the ball properly.
Video is priceless, it's the only way you can see the difference between 'feel' and 'real'.
One thing can only be true... the ball flight will let you know how you're getting on
I don't want a swing that gets the ball around about where I want it to go, I want a real big boys golf swing that I can feel, enjoy, trust and I can repeat! I want it all, I will get it all.... Its not about getting the ball around the course for me, I want to be better... no... I want to be good.
Nice! You just need your epiphany moment, that moment when it all clicks. I had that moment, it involved me giving up everything I thought I knew about the swing and finding out the correct way. Since then I've joined the forum and been ridiculed practically every day by people who really don't know their ass from their elbow, knock everything that is true, support everything that isn't and generally struggle to shoot lower than 80 or get any better despite playing for 15yrs.
You want your moment? Then you have to make it happen, knowledge is the key, find the truth, use it to knock shots off your h/cap as fast as you can... I've seen people make it easily into single figures within a year, scratch in two, it's not that hard... only if you listen to wrong advice.
Is Steve still trying to motivate himself by making bets????????????![]()
God I am a lier, I am working on plane, weight and angle of attack on the ball but mostly weight. I have been able to shift it with my drive for a while so I know the feeling but its not so easy for me with the irons, I seem to have less time even though I swing slower with my irons.
You see, there you go with what you think you know. How exactly are you working on angle of attack? do you own a trackman?, why are you swinging slower with your irons? If you swing properly angle of attack will look after itself.
...if I am getting my body in the right position at impact then the angle of attach is correct. If I have to work on the angle of attack to get my body in the right position then its a worthy exercise innit? We all learn in different ways, I have not found mine yet so I have to try them all![]()
