Is the life of Footjoys getting shorter?

Not sure if FJ are any worse than other shoes but if you had asked the forum to recommend a shoe 3 or 4 years ago, as some did, nearly everyone said FJ. Now that is nowhere near the case. That may be the rise in the number of competitors or a lowering in quality but FJ are not the obvious, no brainer choice that they used to be

I've had 2 pairs of Footboy Icons wear out within 18/20 months & at £160 a pair thats expensive & i won't buy FJ any more.
I have 2 pairs Ecco's & a pair of Puma which are all great, the Puma's have a 2 year warranty.

That my friend is absolute garbage. Either that, or I'm lucky that every pair I buy is a good quality pair that slips through the net

Sadly not garbage, I have had 2 pairs of dryjoys where the leather on the vamp has been of such poor quality it has split within 6 months and a third pair (not sure of model) where the tongue started to detach from the shoe.

For me Ecco and Addidas offer better quality, comfort and value for money in the long run.
