I've always bought Footjoy Dryjoys which I find very comfortable but I fancy that my latest couple of pairs don't last as long as earlier versions.

My latest pair are about 18months old replaced a pair on which the side and sole parted along the area next to the big toe region on both left and right shoes. These latest ones are now in the same condition and starting to leak, (all treated the same, always cleaned and 'polished' after use).

Prior to these two pairs I was getting 5+ years out of a pair.

What replacement leather shoes would you recommend?

I hear more people moan about FJ these days than almost any other shoe. I guess that's because they used to be so good and that they now have them made in China and the quality has been forgotten about. My last pair of Contours leaked after only a few months in the summer and I won't go out of my way to buy FJ any more

I bought a pair of Dryjoy Casual Spikeless shoes last summer, the first pair fo FJ's I've bought in about 6 years. Unfortunately they upper split away from the sole after about 3 wears - much as drdel states. They were replaced under warranty, and the new pair have stood up much better. I'm very glad about that as they are a very comfortable pair of shoes, and a joy to wear.

My present 'my joys' are about 5 years old and still as good as new, I also have a couple of pairs of Oakleys which are very very comfortable and have lasted well.

I play on one of the wettest courses in the winter and my shoes last 2 seasons.
I wear FJ Tours in the winter and my FJ Casuals in the summer.

If I played on a drier course or a links course I believe they will last 3 or 4 seasons
which is really good value for money.

I've had the same experience and switched to addidas tour 360. They are lasting much longer and are extremely comfy!

I got through 3 pairs of Footjoy Contours in just over a year. All split and leaked within the guarantee period. The only good thing was that they were replaced without a quibble. Footjoy shoes definitely don't seem to last as long as they used to! :(

I have had issues with FJ and none with Adidas - it's clear things will be different for different people

But people do seem to be having more issues with FJ than I had heard before

Sent a pair of spineless myJoys back in July because the sole was coming away, they sent out new pair that arrived end of August, by the time I put them away in October the sole was already coming away! Now on a pair of Nikes that have survived the winter without issue.

Side note - don't metal spikes wear away quickly these days?
