Is Howdidido the worst website ever?

Yes, okay, it's slow.

However, on Easter Saturday, when standing at the Starter's Hut on the Old Course at St Andrews, having been a last minute decision to try and play, having woken up at 05.45, having queued for 45 minutes, to be told by the starter, "yes, we can get you out.", then to be asked, "do you have a handicap certificate?", had it not been for my mobile and howdidido, I would not have been able to play the Old Course. And shoot 82!

So it can now be as slow as it wants!!!

Bomber69 & HDID like this:thup:

Luckily my club have there own system.

My old club you had to wait till the wed or thurs of the following week to check the weekend comps.

Glad i don't have to wait that long anymore to find out i've gone up 0.1

I don't seem to have any problems...apart from the fact that none of our results since the beginning of May have been uploaded to it, despite the club publishing to the website! I want my Titleist OoM points!!

If it wasn't for HDID I would not have met some great people who are now lifelong friends. They have held about 8 meetings now over the last 3/4 years & people who have connected through this site regularly meet up. I can access my results very speedily without having to go to the club. I can see how my ex club members are doing by accessing there results. I can look at my stats if I want to, take part in the OOM against my friends etc. How much does this cost me personally? Nothing.

I actually prefer the forum to this one as it is really easy to follow although it took a while to get the edit button!

It has had speed issues in the past, but recently it's been fine most of the time.

Is it the worst site ever? I'll leave you to work out that one!

I find it incredibly slow on Sunday's, which is usually when all the clubs are accessing it to upload their comps, and when all the players are finding out their own results ... Mostother days it's fine (just opened it right now and it was instant, even booked a medal time with no issues).

Agree with everything said here. Speed issues were an issue but have been resolved now, just avoid sat and sunday evenings as it can get a little jittery then when all the clubs start closing comps and uploading them, Still a 100 times faster mind you than it used to be.

I for one enjoy it for looking up other players and checking out there form, especially when it comes to the volvo and hdid matchplay comps. I like to suss out my opponents and decide in advance how easy its going to be for me to win :-)

I used the "embellish scores" option after each round, since they updated the statistics its a real minefield.

Sometimes it lets me add them, sometimes I get an error and have to do it again. Even when I do add them, trying to find the page that lets me actually view all the stats seems to change.

Adding the new stats, seems to have introduced some deadends/bugs in the website.

It is utter pish,I really do not know how ClubSystems get away with this pile of crap.

Clubs are paying for this service and we as members are paying indirectly for it yet every time I go on it takes an age to get in and takes an age to do anything,it really is a total disgrace but sums the company up.

Howdididont is what it should be called.............utter garbage, complaints have been made on numerous occasions to the company from frustrated clubs and members and promises made yet we appear no further forward.

Rant over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just tried logging in this evening - just thought I'd confirm nothing has changed slow a slug in treacle.

It's a great site, but is plagued with the same issues for the 3 years I've been using it. Mind numbingly slow tonight, but I enjoy the crack on there, and just hope it eventually gets sorted for good.

I just managed to post after 50 minutes that I am no longer going to contribute to it any more as far as new posts are concerned and it simply does not deserve the hardcore following it has.

We wouldn't support a shop or brand that gave such poor service, after-sales or didn't address issues it knowingly has had for ages so why should we keep it going!

I didn't know this forum was here and found it by accident only recently so I will continue with the September meet information but I will no longer post anything new.

Its a disgrace.

they need to listen to the feedback and act upon it......they just trot out the same excuses...every sunday it grinds to a halt but because thats normal it seems to be accepted.
its such a shame because like others have posted, there have been some great meets organised and life long friends made through the forum.

very frustrating when week after week it just grinds to a halt. Unfortunately, I don't see it getting any better until they do something differently....

The thing is Rick it isn't just their website, the rest of their offerings are crap too....once market leaders who have stood still for a good few years now.

But its not just weekends or Sundays, it can be mid-week days as well.

I've set-up a HDID group on here so we can chat amongst ourselves in there if needs be.

Just playing devils advocate here.

How much money do you contribute to the website?

If nothing your getting a free service where you can check your results? Can't you check your own club website for this?

Just food for fault, if your not paying for a service do you have the right to complain about it?

Each and every member pays toward this 'service' through their subscriptions so they have every right to complain about it being utter keech.
