@SB.. Is Cambridge Lakes the course on Trumpington road by any chance? I work about a 5 min walk from there which is a bonus.

I have been playing a fair amount at the Par 3 at Abbotsley, 'the Huntingdonshire' because it is good practice, but the hot weather and 'foot golf' has taken its toll of late it seems. I do however think that the longest hole is only ~110yds.

I just visited another, probably going back today.

Hemmingford Abbots near Huntingdon, pretty kooky course next to the DG range.

They have an island green for their last and the 8th is in the middle of the 9th fairway! Actually the 8th as a whole is a weird hole. A driveable par 4 on the way out and on your second visit a devilishly tricky par 3 just 20 yards shorter for the shot less!

Really friendly folk at that place, run by "Astroman" and full of people with more stories than you have had hot dinners!

@SB.. What do you think of the club? I have just seen that they do a trial membership for £50, which with two weeks off and then lates two weeks later would give me a lot of golf for not a lot of money in that space of time!
