Irons - the best you've had

In 40 -odd yrs I've had too many sets of clubs, e.g. the set I bought last summer will be moving on this week hopefully - Taylormade demo day today!!

I tend to keep a set for 6mths to a year and if I'm still no comfortable with them move 'em on. Eventually I'll get something I'm happy with and they stay in the bag for 5+yrs and then boredom sets in and I repeat the cycle.

The 3 sets I've been happy with.

Accushnet Ryder II
Mizuno T-Zoid pro II
Callaway X-Forged.

I'm hoping today's demo day will see me settle on the TM tour preferred MC's or MB's.

I've had one set for the best part of 20 years, got down to 5 with them and hit it beatifully but have just ordered my first set of modern irons. Had to concede that the bad shots were costing me, still managed a 79 in the medal last sat with them.

New set is 0.75 longer so should be hitting it a lot further.

Old set are Wilson staff progressive,a pre cursor to Nike vr combos. Proper quality build and still look good as new.
New set are Wilson fg tour v2

I used to have a set of Wilson Staff progressives. They were great, had them for years but had to get rid as I wore the grooves out on the 7 iron.

I had a set of Ping Zing 2's when I was playing regularly, which made an amazing difference to my game at the time.

Having literally just got back into it, I've got hold of a set of Callaway X16's which are the business!
