Had a fitting for my MP58's just over a year ago and the spec was 1 degree flat and 1/2 inch longer than standard with TTDGS300 shafts.
The fitter told me that I "squatted" a little at address and the extra half inch would get me standing taller.
It did and everything was rosy.

About 6 months ago I developed a pronounced draw with the irons - ok it was more like a hook! This was partly down to ball position which I sorted. Still a bit of a draw but it settled down. Recently, the hook has returned. Remembering the fitter's advice to stand a little taller I did just that.
I'm now hitting the ball into the stratosphere, so high it's coming down with ice on it! Distance is up because of the extra carry due to the extra height, but it gets killed into the wind and is impossible to judge downwind. Hit an 8 iron 170 yards today - downwind carry!

What's happening? Anyone any ideas?
My normal ball flight is fairly penetrating with the DGS300. When I address "properly" it goes too high, when I "squat" it goes left.....except my Fli-Hi 4iron that is made to the same spec - that's fine.
Now and then it's perfect. Yesterday I struck the longer irons very cleanly and on a good trajectory - everything else was crap mind..

I find that my ball flight is very high and hooky, even with low profile muscles back MP57's. After a few lessons I noticed that my sternum was always behind the ball thus increasing the loft of the club and the club was very closed at the top.

I tried hitting balls and upon making contact with the ball moving all my weight over the ball, almost playing a punch shot and sometimes losing my balance on my left side. This was obviously an exaggeration but it helped me feel to get my body through the ball and sternum and chest area in front of the ball at impact.

Regarding the big draw/hook the only way was to get a lesson with video camera and see where my club turned closed. For me it was to make sure the club rested on my thumb at the top of my swing so the face was pointing downwards, instead of the club being in my fingers and sitting closed at the top of my swing.

Hope this helps!

My first thought was weight transfer too, is your body getting stuck behind the ball? Are you sliding right on the back swing?

I do have a sway with the driver but I keep pretty steady with the irons, just the normal weight back and through...

Are you sure you have the correct shafts mate ?

Well they're the ones that the Swing DNA gizmo spat out as the most appropriate. 2nd choice was PX 5.5 followed by KBS Tour stiff so unless my swing's gone completely wonky - Yes.

Ok mate, is it possible that you are affecting the loft on the club, either delofting or adding loft? ball position?
I was told that on mid irons, the ball should be just ahead of my shirt buttons, not sure if this is good for you or not, but maybe worth looking at it.
Swing plane, a flatter plane would cause a hook, and finally, are you cocking your wrists, or hinging them? if you hinge them, the club will be laid off at the top and cause a shut face on impact.
:)
