You simply cannot buy based on other peoples likes or dislikes. Dave (realgolfer) is a similar handicap to me and says the X-20s are the best irons he's hit, yet I disliked them completely.

The only, repeat, only way to know if any club will work for you is to hit it...a lot...and get it custom fitted.

If you decide to go the "buy before you try" route accept it will be a fun, frustrating and eBay-tasitc process.

AG will only offer you what Golfbidder tell you its worth, and it will be 50% less than what you could get privately or on ebay.

I can understand what position your in, desperate for new irons. We all know, we've ben there, but please, do not rush into this, you may (and probably will regret it in future)

Go and try everything you can get your hands on before you decide!
