iPing Putter App & Cradle

Anyone used it yet?

I have had the app for quite a while now as I downloaded it when they released it in the USA but for some reason they took a while bringing the cradle out over here. Popped in to American Golf today and saw they had got them in finally (about 2 weeks ago) so I picked one up. Little bit pricey for what it is (24.99 the app is free) but my god is it good!

One thing I did notice, when I was in store I trialled it on a Ping Scottsdale Wolverine (which I had to stop myself from buying as well) and it told me I had a putting handicap of 5......I then got home and stuck it on my old Odyssey White Hot #5 and was told I had a handicap of 14 so I'm thinking that my putter might not be the best available to me.

Anyway, highly recommend the app and cradle. Measures your tempo, stroke shape and face angle at impact, then allows you to practise with immediate feedback. So far I have realised that my stroke is too long on the back stroke so I have shortened it and am getting much more consistent tempo results now.

Are you sure its not simply programmed to recognise a Ping putter and give you better stats because of it.....

Lol. Not possible. They do beef up the simulator in store though to make you think you're hitting the new shiny irons that bit further. Con!

Id be keen to hear from anyone who has one of these AND a V-Easy. How does your swing compare on the app with and without it?

I have the app and cradle too (you do need the i phone 4 sadly).

Found it really helpful in giving swing path and tempo, you look a bit of a twerp using it tho'

There are aids out there that make you look more of a prat than this does.
