iPhone 8 plus upgrade

Wife's iPhone 8 plus is creaking at the seams so what would be a sensible refurbished upgrade ?
Plenty of options on Giffgaff so just need a nudge in the right direction.

Doesn't want to switch to android.

Was talking to my bro in law over the weekend. He paid up front for his phone from Back market, after his son had bought one. They have both been very happy.
That’s where I have started looking, most models at different levels of quality. When I get one Missis T will have my iPhone 12 and get rid of her iPhone 8.

Assuming she’s happy with a no frills iPhone, SE 2nd Edition will do the job for about £100, also uses the same case as the 8.

If she wants the Face ID, etc.. 16e replaces the SE.

I've never had an iphone and have been happy with the Android system. It seems the iphones are a bit like golf drivers where there's a must have new model every year.
Are they worth the expense?

The comparison between iPhones and drivers is quite good.Suffice to say the advancement is slight every year.

Most manufacturers release new phones annually. Samsung around Feb, Google around Sept/Oct.

Like drivers, you get very little generational change until you get multiple generations out. I have an iPhone 12 (work phone) that I’ve had 4 years so will upgrade next year to, probably, the 17 and get benefit from the new tech.

Personal phone is an iPhone 15 and won’t be upgraded until probably the 20 is released.

I wa having a Google a couple of days ago. There have been rumours around for months about the new iPhone 17 release in September. I was thinking about hanging around until then, but usually the savings on the older ones are not that massive

Excellent condition.
Looks as good as new.
HID wanted this grade as she said any screen scratches would annoy her and I was paying anyway
