Invitational - what prizes

I'm organising an invitational day. Need prizes for teams 1,2 and 3 plus nearest pin and longest drive.

Can anyone suggest what prizes they think are good. Looking at not much ££ i.e. £30 value 1st prize, £20 value second, £10 third. At the moment all I'm thinking is golf balls and whisky. Is that good enough or do people want other things - if so what?

Clothes are no good, clubs are no good, shoes are no good etc. Bit stumped. Don't want to just award cash prizes if possible (even if they are the best prizes! )

Bottle prizes usually go down well with most (but you can't please everyone etc). Another way is to buy all prizes of more or less equal value and let first have the pick and 3rd get what's left etc. Gets round having to give a very small prize for 3rd.

Unless you buy 6 or 7 very small prizes so that everybody gets crap and pocket what's left over of the prize fund

Wine is a minefield and besides it's just a gents invitational. Isn't wine a bit girly for this kind of thing?

You do get a very nice bottle of wine for the money though, where as whiskey at less than £20 a bottle is pish suitable only for lighting barbeques.

Anyway, back on track gentlemen (how did my question about prizes end up about Smiffy's condoms? ), thank you Homer for the trophy idea, have ordered a few little fun trophies from a place like that, some prov1's and some booze.
If they don't like it they can lump it!
