Interesting Format !

Played a friendly game today with 3 other "ladies" I prefer just to practice in such rounds and moan that it always has to be some form of competition as most ladies it seems have to play a competition or there's no point! Anyhow, today was great fun and a very interesting format which kept the interest to the 18th and also was fairly good at replicating some of the pressure of real competitions. We split into 2 pairs and the scoring was:

Holes 1-6 are better ball Stableford
Holes 7-12 are combined points
Holes 13-18 are one score (points) multiplied by the other.

So for the final 6 you need both of you to score as nothing multiplied by anything is still nothing! With me so far??? Suddenly that putt for a point has value and you don't want to stuff up and negate your partner's decent score.

We were 5 points down on the 17th and hoped for a miracle which we got! One of our opponents stuffed their tee shot ob on 17 then her partner did the same on 18 and we won by 5 clear points

It was great fun!

Certainly a bit different and should keep it going to 17/18. It's always good when matches go the distance, even better when you win.

Nice format, pressure building as the game progresses and as said, should keep the match going to the end.

Definitely sounds worth a try during the winter months.
