went for a round yesterday, i say round but i couldnt finish it as i was in agony

i was running a little late, and a member i hadnt played with before was waiting on the 1st tee for me, so i rushed getting clubs out of locker, and headed for the first tee,

i usually warm up arm back stretches ect, but i didnt have time, so strait onto the tee and swung, down swing i felt a sharp tabbing in my top right quarter of my chest, was agony,

my 2nd shot a short chip was killing me i couldnt get into any stance without the sharp pain, couldnt swing, and deep breaths hurt, i had to appolagise after a few holes and walk in, and taking my name of todays comp,

spoke to the pro said its quite common, muscles inbetween the ribs but heals pretty fast, still in pain today tho

gutted

if there is one thing I'm guilty of is not warming up properly, especially on my home course. I do basic stretches but wish my club has a decent chipping area and set of nets. The putting green isn't bad but doesn't get you warmed up.

my usual swing warm up usually consists of a few practice swings just off the first tee.

when I'm playing another course I always have a session in the nets

I'll get to our range before competitions and generally take a wedge, an 8 iron, a 5 iron, my hybrid and my driver. I'll do a maximum of 5 per club before moving up to the next and finish off with a few full and pitched wedges. If I have time I'll head to the strip beside the putting green and some chips before progressing onto the green to get the speed for the day.
