Morning! Firstly I'd like to thank those who put my mind at rest about the message I posted last week about joining a club. I did it on Sunday and went for my first round last night. Played the front nine of one of the courses and carded a 51 which I was chuffed with seeing as I hadn't played the course before. I thought it would have been a lot worse. I will get better I hope.
Anyway the reason for this post is that it quickly became apparent that I'll be spending some time in the trees with tricky lies etc. I remember reading somewhere a while back that people carried a wrong-sided club in their bags for instances of bad lies. I'm right-handed so was thinking of going to buy a left-handed short iron, from a cheapo sports shop, for those lies that cannot be played right-handed. I know I'll need to work on it and sometimes it may be better taking a drop than playing left-handed but would I be infringing any rules if I ever play in competitions? I don't think I'll exceed the max amount of clubs in the bag (is it 14?) but can I choose to play a shot any way I want?
