Evening guys,

Been struggling with my driver lately and think it's time for a change.

Been looking at a couple and its come down to the Ping G25 and the cobra fly z plus. Anyone got opinions on both? I'm looking for more forgiveness than the big bertha, I know the ping will be more forgiving, is the cobra similar?

Hoping to get a hit with both before buying but what's the thoughts on these two?

Only hit the g25 myself, was forgiving enough for my bad shots. Liked the sound off the face just wasn't a big enough improvement to warrant me swapping from the g15 iv got in the bag. But lovely club. Getting rid of the Big Bertha?

Yeah just not getting along with it, missing to many shots with it and it's costing me each round.

If you want forgiveness you have to try the M2. I compared a whole host of drivers and this was by far the most forgiving and had best dispersion figures.

I can't count The amount of times I've hit it low or out the toe and they've still gone high and straight.

Definitely worth a try and I'm not just saying it, a few others that have one have said the same.

Not tried the g25 or the fly z so can't help there but i got myself a used titleist 913d2 after having a number of callaways .
Straightened me right up, forgiving, looks lovely and goes really well. It's not coming out of my bag anytime soon. Worth a go anyway

I think you should be concentrating more on getting the fitting right in your driver rather than random recommendations from others. Fitted correctly you can hit anything but get the wrong fitting in the most forgiving driver in the world and you will still be all over the place.

Yep, I've an M2 and it is even more forgiving than the G25 I had previously so would recommend trying that one out at least.

If forgiveness is a priority I'd look at the Fly Z rather than the Fly Z+. I had the + one, went fine but not the most forgiving and had a god awful feel/sound off the face.

There's a lot of good drivers, I hit loads earlier this year, the Nike Vapor Fly (if you can get over the blue colour) was probably my second favourite behind the M2 but the Callaway, Titleist, Cobra's etc are all good drivers so try and hit as many as you can.

Edit, the Ping G is also one to look at for forgiveness, I didn't like the look and hated the sound/feel (again, like the G30) but that's personal preference.

I concur, particularly as the OPs sig has his driver down as 9 degree. If it's played as a 9 degree then there maybe the problem straight away?

Is that driver adjustable and if so have you changed the loft higher? If yes, ignore me :D

Yeah I've got it lofted up to 11 degrees. Just haven't changed the sig.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'm going to try a few today and see how I get on.

I have the cobra fly z+ and my son has the fly z, the fly z is slightly more forgiving per the charts available on another website but not really sure I could tell, as my strike and swing is not great.

I like the sound and feel of the face and can tell were I have mis hit my driver.

Didn't try any other drivers.

BTW I have my driver set at 11 degrees which for me on the course is a great flight and roll(when the fairways are dry), even though I have a high flight on my irons. My son has he set at 10.5 degrees has a lower flight with his irons but hits is driver higher than mine, as his AOA is positive.

Why not at least goto AG or range or your local shop and try out various drivers to see if any actually help, if you are having problems with your driver ?
