Thanks for all your help guys, lots of info there and i've been researching options mentioned on t'internet . One thing i have looked at is a sound bar that seems quite functional and simple, had good reviews relative to the price (about £70 ) rrp£200 but everyone selling for around £70 .

I've seen the soundbar on eBay, but was unsure about it. But then again I've never been a huge fan of very small speakers. I'd you get one, I'd be interested on your thoughts.

What make is the soundbar? I know Yamaha do decent ones. They were the first to bring one out over here.
