TEXAS SCRAMBLE (4-spelers strokeplay)



Het zeer populaire Texas scramble is een wedstrijd die gespeeld wordt door teams bestaande uit vier personen.

Alle vier slaan af op de afslagplaats(en) en vervolgens kiezen de teamleden de bal met de beste ligging. DE overige drie ballen worden opgenomen en geplaatst binnen één clublengte van deze bal, maar niet dichter bij de hole. Alle spelers slaan om beurten hun tweede bal van deze positie. Vervolgens wordt wederom gekozen welke bal de beste positie heeft en een ieder plaatst zijn bal weer binnen één clublengte. Wordt een bal in een hazard of in de rough gekozen, dan moeten de overige ballen ook van daar uit gespeeld worden. Markering kan geschieden met behulp van een tee.

Op de greens moeten de ballen gespeeld worden binnen 10 cm van de gekozen bal (maar niet dichter bij de hole). Deze plaats dient gemarkeerd te worden met een marker.

Na iedere hole wordt de beste score genoteerd. Nadat de achttien holes zijn gespeeld, worden de scores opgeteld. Het team met de laagste netto score is winnaar.

De scorekaart dient te worden ondertekend door twee spelers van het team.

BELANGRIJK: Van elke speler moet minimaal vier maal de bal gekozen worden met de beste ligging (dit eveneens noteren op de score kaart).



Handicapverrekening:

De gezamenlijke handicaps van een team worden opgeteld en 1/8 daarvan wordt als handicap meegegeven.

I feel your pain Smiffy. I work in an office of 9 people and I'm the only bloke. Topics of discussion I've had to listen this week include: Why one of their sisters may have stopped expressing breast milk, how differently each of them behaves when its the time of the month and the possible onset of the menopause. Needless to say I have little input for any of these topics.

He'll be in the kitchen with the apron on serving little sausage rolls and things on sticks, topping up everyones drinks and probably modelling some of the stuff from the collection that they've all come to see.

Definition: Texas Scramble is a competition format that is a basic scramble with a slight twist.

Scrambles involve 4-person teams playing four balls, but with each shot coming from the same spot (the best of the four drives is chosen and all four team members then hit from that spot, and so on).

The variation in a Texas Scramble is that at least four drives of each member of the team must be used during the course of the round: At least four drives hit by Player A, four by Player B, and so on. In a regular scramble, a great driver might have his tee ball used on every hole. A Texas Scramble eliminates that possibility and allows even the weakest driver on the team to get into the action.
