Right...

I have not posted on golf monthly for about a year now. :o! But anyway I'm back now and my golf (cock sure of my self) has never been better *touch wood*. I am currently not a member at a golf club because I cant get to play in any competitions so am not paying a load of money to play very rarely because booking a tee is hard at my old club. I left off of 8 but playing on courses in a society I have been shooting level/1 under very averagely. So I want to enter junior comps but cant join a club what should I do?

Thanks Connor

Connor, cant you use the handicap trackers that are available on-line, and enter open comp at courses local to yourself.

I know our place has cheap memberships for young people and has golf mark awards??? Whatever they might be.??? We also have quite a good junior section who normally play comps with quite a few tee times slotted in on the Saturday with the rest of the comps.

Aside of joining a club if the above doesn't work I'm not sure what you can do.

I have played your course a few times may have to enquire about a membership. How much is a junior membership?

Why can't you join a club?

Work commitments to the weekend!

5 day membership??

I am in college... :D

Why are you confused about being in college?? :o

Could you not join a club with a 'credit' system - i.e say £200 up front and then you pay for credits which you use each time you play?? You students have untold holidays to use up....

And that is when I have to try and smash the overtime to get the money together for coming months bills and saving etc...

Connor ,,see you updated your profile showing a handicap of scratch.if you left your last club off 8,and now your not a club member, you dont play in regular comps, how can you of got to 0 or is this a society handicap ??

Welcome back Mono - only 78000 posts to go through to catch up!!

I'm not sure a Society/online handicap would be accepted for entry into Opens - I could be wrong but I think the only way to go is to bite the bullet, join a club and get a new handicap.

28 to scratch in what?under 2 years?

MikeH needs to look no further for their Mizuno youngster of the month!

The best thing I dont was take a month out to clear my head and when I went back my 1st round back was in America and realised that I had the talent *cocky* but needed more practice. Had 3 months to myself and played everyday almost and hit the gym and now hit it further and more accurate than ever! Golf was the reason I joined the gym to hit further but after a look in the mirror at 13 stone and 29%bf decided I needed to sort it out!Got down to 10 stone and 7%bf and am not 12.3 stone and 8% bf. Just need to join back to a club I think!
