For me. It would have to be to get the basics right first.

Posture, set up, alignment and grip. It's boring and not very glam. But I do have a habit of trying to run before I can walk!

I've recorded all my rounds on a simple excel spreadsheet (makes horrific reading)

thought it was a tad anal when I started it and that I wouldn't keep it up - but surprisingly I have.

Nothing really, at the end of the day i would probably be playing at the same level as what im playing at anyway . Ive never wanted to be a pro and still dont, the game to me is a hobby and thats it

I didn't need to be told that, my dad shouted it at me everytime I (mis)hit the ball anyway.

Stop buying new clubs every time you have a few bad rounds, be happy with what you have and admit that is you playing the bad shots not the club

Spend at least as much time practicing chipping and putting as I do with my irons and woods.

And I agree with GB72 on the clubs. That came a close second. Get a lesson, not a new driver. It's cheaper and stands far more chance fixing the problem.
