...hold your horses. For a couple of weeks or so anyway...

Twire's post about finding the best renewal price on a GM subscription prompted me to tell those of you who don't currently have a sub to the mag, but might be pondering taking one out - to hang on for a few weeks as we are about to do a promotion where you can get a subscription to GM at 50% off the cover price.

It's all flagged up in the Feb coverdated issue which goes on sale on Dec 30.

Its part of the start your 2010 season in style with a money off at AG voucher, 2 for 1 green fees and special play and stay deals for GM readers at Marriott venues and the WIN your 2010 club subs comp.

Basically you'll get the magazine delivered to your door (and in your hands few day's before you can buy it at the shops) for just £2 an issue.

This is the best price we have ever offered - at that rate it obviously doesnt involve any free balls! - and will be open for one month only.

I wonder when my renewal is due. Do renewals gain any gifts/prizes?

Hi level 5, renewals qualify for lower prices (between 20 and 26% discount off the cover price) and next year we're hoping to do some subscriber only offers and benefits.

So are you saying the 37% (2 years) and 32% (1 year) discount is for new subscribers only, and renewals get 20 - 26%? If thats the case, I'll have to appologies to your customer care lady, she didn't explain that.

Those fugures sound about right Neil! The offers do change very frequently but the rule of thumb is best prices are always online!

A cheap way to subscribe is to use Tesco Clubcard Vouchers. I've got mine starting next month and it cost me the princely sum of 12 quid!! For the whole year - 12 issues.
No freebies of course but.....
