Idea for electric trolley

The one thing that annoys me about having an electric trolley is the almost constant changing of direction when you get on a side slope or undulating fairway.

My kid has a wee trike-bike that you can take control of with a handle that sticks out the back. It's simple and lets you steer the wheel simply by tilting the handle left or right. This would make use of an electric trolley just that bit more simple and complete what is already a fantastic product.

Anyone fancy coming on dragons den with me?

I was watching some guys heaving their trolleys around trying to steer them the other day. I reckon that if you graft the ball from a dyson onto the front end it would be far easier to manipulate.

After yesterdays 36 holes I'm kinda thinking that perhaps some way of recharging the battery whilst it's being used.

The wheels go round whilst using the battery, so why can't that energy be used to recharge the battery? I'm not an electrician or a techie. But surely something is possible?

You must stay in a different Scotland from me. Don't you need sun and daylight for solar panels to work?

Don't the wheels need to be fixed so that you can 'park' the trolley in exactly the right position on a sideslope so that it doesn't run away. If the front wheel rotated, it would always point downhill and run off. Unless you fit a brake I suppose...

Using solar panels would be impractical unfortunately. A solar panel of a practical size for a golf trolley will only give about 2 watts of power. A 5 hour round would only provide approximately 0.8 ampere hours of power in total. The immediate output would be approximately 1/6th of an amp power.

Yep. I have a three wheel pushchair, when the front single wheel is in rotating mode it tracks really badly on side slopes. It always turns the whole buggy downhill and bye bye buggy and child! Great for tight turns on flat shopping centre floors though.
