I am not convinced by his 'misquoting' argument. On the assumption that Golf World relies on the good will of the tour pros and the manufacturers to fill its pages every month it would be a very short sited view to create senstionalist quotes like that to sell a few extra copies. If the magazine got a reputation for manipulating the content of interviews it would soon run out of golfers willing to talk. I would also assume that they have tapes to back up the article.

I dont think they care as long as they get their Tiger exclusive in once a year.

Yawn... Poulter is British and young and a decent golfer, yet half the forum like to think of themselves as Tiger, a Yank who in my eyes is ruining competition and from this turning people away from the game rather than attract them to it.

Yes Poulter was misquoted, so what. As Poulter said Tiger had a golf club in hand at aged 4 (natural or nurtured) it's quite sad.

Then again I would rather be poulter right now, than a glory hunter bouncing along on the bandwagon slagging every golfer who speaks out about tiger.

yip Yawn.

Tiger is ruining competition.....yawn
If anyone is ruining golf its the manufacturers with there pushing for distance cause it sells.

Tiger is turning people away from golf.....yawn
He has brought more people to the game in recent history than any other, granted a lot are load mouthed yanks but these loud mouthed yanks are the reason golf is on tv so much as it has a bigger audience now, so i will put up with it(not that we have a choice)

Poulter was misquoted..... The biggest YAWN
This is standard issue response from anyone who Say's something stupid to a journalist. I was miss quoted as bad as lost in translation.

Sad that Tiger had a club in his hand at 4......yawn
If DA vinci had a brush in his hand at 4 years old is this sad?

As for jumping on the band wagon and slagging of any one who speaks out about Tiger.....yip you guessed it yawn

What i read on here its what Poulter said about himself being as good as Tiger that people are taken a back at.
He is a decent golfer but he is not and i would put money on never will be in the same league as Tiger.

Tiger is not my favourite golfer neither is Poulter a golfer i don't like but to say that mot are just getting at Poulter for talking against Tiger is just wrong, Poulter made a bit of an r's of himself pure and simple.

Not trying to offend you by the way just don't agree with any of you're reasoning, and i fully expect pelters back and i will take it on the chin as its only an opinion.

Poulter says he was misquoted, and I believe him. Some journalists employ pick-and-mix procedure with their interview reports, just to make the story more interesting.

In tabloids yes, but in golf publications where everyone is trying to keep in with the Pro's to get the exclusives I find this highly unlikely and if it is true then the journalist will be hung out to dry by his employers.
