I was bemoaning my poor finish untl I saw some of the others in the competiton.

We have had our first board competition today, I played pretty well with a few exceptions and I finished with a 72 which was CSS so I was disappointed to finish with 2 double bogeys. I finished 1 shot behind the joint winners.
I have just had a look at the scores on how did I do and was amazed to see the finishes of some of the best scores.

The joint winner (no card playoff we have 18 holes playoffs for most board comps) with 71 of 18 had a 7 on the par 3 last
The other joint winner had 71 off 12 had 2 double bogeys on the last 4 holes
I came 3rd with doubles on the last 2
one girl had 75 off 15 but finished quadruple, double, double, double.
and one girl finished with 77 off 11 but had a 12 on the par 5 17th.

There seems no reason for it but it does seem strange the 5 of the top 7 all finished very poorly after having played well for most of the round.

I'm making an irritating habit of poor finishes. My last two comps I've been out in 4 under net 42. Two weeks ago I came back in 47 (4 over net), today 44. At least I should get my cut from today.

I'm hoping that, a bit like your comp, it's one of those things that just happens occasionally. Otherwise it's going to be one frustrating year.

I know all about bad finishes. It happens but the way I see it, the more you can get into contention the more you can get use to it.
