I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

After contemplating not playing yesterday I figured it would be better than the housework tasks I would be given if I didn’t go. Not sure which would have been least enjoyable now.

Another poor round, only 1 true shank but another 3 or 4 close calls were you can feel you’ve hit it very close the hosel. Driver was all over the place and putting was dreadful, going from those Archerfield quick greens to our slow and bobbly greens didn’t help. Had 3 doubles, a triple and a blob to go with 3 bogeys and 2 birdies. I seem to lose my swing for 2 or 3 shots in a row which ruin a hole and then find it again, very frustrating.

My wife did ask an interesting question when I got home and queried if my weight loss has anything to do with it since I’ve lost over 2 stone since January and I’ve been erratic this year. Maybe I need to get back on the cakes. 😂

@Oops! And now you've got that out of the way. The more comps you play the less stressful they become. Have a think today about where you scored well, what happened when you scored a zero. Is there anything you can take from that (apart from the obvious of hit the ball better, which is something we are all trying to do but golf is tough)

Key realization: Don’t let the marshal get on your nerves! 🤬

After a really, REALLY good tee shot on the 2nd hole, the ball rolled into the rough on the right. All my playing partners’ balls were on the left side of the fairway, so I had to search for my ball alone and couldn’t find it (lost). So I was already annoyed when the marshal felt the need to rush us and lecture us (safety) just because he knew we were a group of high-handicap players. I was on the verge of quitting the tournament. In the end, I just gave up on that hole … 😡

Second realization: Golf is “just” a game, so have fun! 🤟👍

Third realization: You have nothing to lose, so play whatever club you think is right, even if another one might be “safer.” Practice makes perfect! 👍

I’m working on it…! 😇😎🤞
