I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Front nine, complete and utter rammel. Back nine 19 points. And still left some out there. A PPs birthday today and another PP showed his gratitude by whacking him with a ball on the leg 🫣
Now it was one of those that was a complete accident, but the guy playing the shot knobbed it left and lost it. It flew low. The guy it hit was 60yds in front and 20 yards left. He wasn’t looking for it and PP never saw it. I always when in front keep an eye on ball flight. Birthday boy thought he was safe. ☹️

I played on Saturday whilst away for a long weekend with my bro and his wife.
We played a course called Axe Cliff just outside Axmouth.
I must say, playing on the top of a cliff, it was probably the windiest game of golf I've ever had.
It got to the point that whenever I was taking a shot I had to lie the bag and trolley on it's side to avoid it being blown over or blown away.
It was a very hilly course with countless blind shots aimed at markers, probably not an issue if you knew the course!
Not a course I'd want to be a member of, but all the staff were extremely friendly and oh so welcoming.
Even the trolley hire was free of charge!
Had a really fun day and managed to beat my bro 2 up.
I sank the longest putt of my life, about 30yds down a steep bank to a sunken green, it was a thing of beauty.
My bro also hit the putt of his life, measured at 61yds, yup, 61yds ....................... he hit it to about a foot!
He putted from that far out because getting the ball airborne had so much jeopardy that it had to be avoided where possible.
Into the wind, a really well hit drive would struggle to go 100yds.
I highly recommend this course, if ever you find yourself in the area, as some of the views were absolutely breathtaking.
Each to their own, but I hope I never have to play there again. Too many blind shots for me and holes 16 and 17 are just bonkers. Nice friendly staff and members, good views and dry in the winter are its best features for me.

Went out on the back nine for a practice - weather was warmer than I expected! Was wishing I'd put shorts on, and I also made a rookie error in not changing into a collared shirt before leaving so I had to leave my jumper on! 🥵

Pretty standard mixed bag really. Knocked a 3 wood in to 6 feet on the SI1 12th - missed the putt of course. Three-whacked the 13th. Duffed my 6 iron tee shot on the 14th but it caught the slope and rolled pin high anyway. For the last two holes I bumped into a guy I've met in the roll-up so played them with him. Unfortunately I knifed my approach through the green on both of them. Played the last two holes again since that annoyed me, and I wouldn't say I played them much better, although I did play a nice chip on the 17th from a tricky lie surprisingly.

Putting was rubbish again. As with every other year I can see it's going to take me at least a month to get used them to being fast. 😒

The 16th is just the most ridiculous hole I've ever played. We both lost a ball there.
I didn't see the 17th green until I was putting!
Oh, and the 18th is no bargain with the wind we were playing in ................. miss the green and it's an issue.
