I was stood on the tee of our par 3 18th today with a 2 hybrid in hand, 200 yards with a vicious crosswind.
I couldn't of hit the tee shot any better, it sailed on to the slightly elevated green.
Me and my playing partners couldn't see the green until 50 yards away at which point we realised the ball wasn't on it.
I thought it just can't be in the hole, it must be off the back. so just to prolong the suspense for myself I checked off the back, no ball.
I'm 38, and been playing for 10 years, and the most nervous ive been playing the game was stood on the 1st at St Andrews but the 20 or so steps towards the hole from the back of the green far outweighed that. I almost didn't want to look, but i did and there it was, I dropped to my knees and thumped the green.
I still can't believe it.

Cheers fellas, just had to get it of my chest.
I told the missus and she said "oh, well done"
When I really needed a A high five, or a firm handshake.

Congrats... welcome to the club!

You will remember that shot for the rest of your days. When you think about it you will even feel the wind on your face...

....how cool is that!!! :)

It was late in the day so there was only about 10 in the bar, I got my playing partners a drink, but nobody else accepted the offer, so it wasn't that painfull, not that I would of minded.
I was ready to get the credit card out and start dancing on the Tables :D

Great news - very well done; hope to experience your feeling this year

Yes, doesn't one's partner get excited with our great feats! When I got my first eagle 4 years ago (from 140 yds - none of the 4 in my group saw it go in) ; I texted my wife, and got "well done, you've taken the back door keys!")

well done kid, mines a nice glass of the house red.
been playing for 50 years and never hit one yet, but then again im not that good at this game.

Well done on the hole in one.

GrumpyJock, I know you're saving your first one for the 271 yd par 3 at Luton Hoo later this month!!! :D :D
