A golf club - now!
For those that don't know I had to let my membership lapse at the beginning of the month due to financial constraints (which do seem to be easing a little). Going Pay'n'Play was the only realistic option.
Previously, when I've been out to play, I've treated my solo games as practice for the next Medal or Club Major. Now I don't have that incentive I'm just knocking it around and not really concentrating enough so the scores arn't coming and my game is suffering. This is really starting to bug me but unless I join a club and get the competitive juices flowing again its going to be hard work.

HID and the Boy are away this week so I'm putting together a plan to present to the Financial Director(HID) next Monday!

I need to join my 1st club to push my game on, there's only so far you can go playing your mates on muni's and I desperately need to start playing competition golf to see what i'm capable of but financial constraints mean I cant just yet.

I had a similar dilema earlier this year. To join or pay and play. Add up how much it costs to pay and play. Is it the same or more than membership? If yes, simple answer.

Well that's how I justified it anyway!

They do good payment plans - i'm trying to convince HID that its a good idea!
Played there Sunday pm - still as nice as it was when I first played it in the winter.

I might bite the bullet this week and join Vig's track. Going to ring up today and see what the monthly cost is and present my case to HID. If she says no i'm starting smoking again tomorrow! lol

Why not join Temple Newsam club and enter comps and get a season ticket and you can then play 5 courses and enter comps at temple?

Temple membership + season ticket = £550 per year

Mid Yorkshire is an extra £110 and is a squillion times better course than Temple & Middleton. Admittedly I havent played Roundhay and I dont want to play Gotts Park.

But £660 per year for a private course that is very very pretty and a good challenge cant be sniffed at!

Plus it gets me away from all the chavs on the muni's lol

The only thing that is putting me off joining Mid Yorkshire is that its a 30 min drive every time I want to play golf, whereas Temple is quite literally on my doorstep!

Yes bandit my ol' twocka we need to arrange a game at Temple since I havent played yet and no doubt will end in over a 100+. Can't play this or next weekend but am free 20/21st June or anytime the first two weeks of July.

I dont know where they get £175 from either, but thats what it is, thats why for an extra £110 I could get Mid Yorks.

She might but I have a £65 + lots of booze rabbits day out in July & a mates 50th in Scarbrough for a weekend costing £100 + lots of booze not including my rabbits day comp next Friday against some bandits. All costing a lot, but I shall try and soften her up for it.

I have just joined my club and it works out so much cheaper than what i was paying at the local muni. . . plus it was the girlfriends idea for us to save money!!

I am now paying £50.14 per month for a much better course compared to £80 i was at the local (awful condition) muni!!
