I didn't play today because..........(rolling thread)

Half a chance of not getting out at all this week....either blowin' a hoodie or lashing down or freezing cold....or all 3 at the same time..
Sadly, every passing year makes it easier to not play in these conditions.....

A little bit of wind yesterday, hitting 180 yard drives into and 280 downwind.

Wind was also bitter yesterday, I ended up playing the whole round with my rain gloves on just to try and keep my hands warm.
I stopped caring after a few holes and ended up putting with my golf mittens on just to help keep warm. Surprisingly effective from distance, not so great closer in 😄

I guess I was lucky then. Played my round(s) yesterday in glorious sunshine and barely any wind at all. Needless to say, I did not play today when the weather has been atrocious.

Course Closed Thursday, Friday, Sunday and today and I expect tomorrow.
It was open Saturday but with a buggy ban.

Given what was being said on the local news this morning re flooding I think it is a stay at home day.

There's currently half an inch of hail accumulated on the front garden......that's why I'm in the warm and dry.......
I bet there's some plonkers out playing in it....40 mph winds too......
And we've just had thunder and lightning :ROFLMAO:

Good luck with the clear up Ladybank has a lot of trees , I hope most are still standing a lovely course the time I played it, though the greens were being treated.
About 60 of us turned up to help clear up on the front 9 this morning. Must have been at least 30 trees down on the front half coupled with a ton of branches small and large. It was a real mess out there. Think we managed to bundle up most of it ready for the tractors to pick up later. Hopefully get 9 holes open to play on Wednesday, then do the same on the back half next week.

Ladybank. I suspect that’s only part of it. Heading down in a while to help the greenies clear up, will get a better idea then
That's too bad, have played there a couple times and enjoyed it. Good luck with the cleanup.
Is Peter Smith (curler) still a member there?

Ironically, while plenty of courses are closed due to fallen trees and the resulting clear up operation, we're cutting them down.......mainly Ash but a few firs as well..
