I bought today.....

Went a bit giddy today and bought a new set of irons.

Titleist T250* (* is launch spec) in 5, 6 and 7 - T150 in 8, 9, PW, GW.

KBS Max 55 graphite shafts and lofts strengthened/weakened to run 26-50 degrees.

I play T150's now, but my teaching pro wanted me to look at a more forgiving 6 iron and possibly reintroduce a 5 iron. My T150's are black, so to blend alongside current set, I'd have had 3 chrome/4 black and would have had to weaken lofts on the T150's by 2 degrees. Add in a fabulous new shaft option and decided to just get the set new and see how I go, but likely sell the T150's later.

Was probably the best fitting I've ever had, as my improvements allowed enough consistency to focus on ball speed, peak height and decent angle. These numbers now work consistently throughout the set.

Will need to drop a hybrid/fairway if the 5 iron works too.

Hated getting the card out, but enjoy seeing the differences and hope I can transfer them to the course.

Very envious, they’re beautiful looking clubs.

It was tough because the black T150's were my dream set, but was always going to struggle with the longer irons.

I started with a blended set of T200 / T150, but never loved the plate on the back of the 200's, so when they launched the black, for the sake of 3 irons, went all T150.

As soon as the T250's came out, I knew I'd end up going back.

I was chuffed my game became decent with the T150's and the fitter saw no reason to change in the scoring clubs, but the 4th gen version are a little lighter, so it all helps. Not all clubs were available today, but he's convinced I'll get great gapping across the set, with new shafts and lofts adjusted, albeit I'm nervous with 2 degrees weaker in the 150's.

Probably wanted a matching set, but he convinced me not to take the 250's above a 7 iron and he's never really done me wrong, so all in!

The club pro managed to save me seventy five quid off the new iron set, so the order went in today.

Likely the shafts are on back order, so wioo just have to wait and see.

Fitter told me there are new wedges out in January, but said he’d fit me for free and aim to get the perfect set up.

I had my Gen 6 0311XP irons reshafted from steel to graphite and they only charged trade for the shafts (Aerotech Steelfibre) + £50 labour.

Can't fault their customer service.
Yeah, definitely can’t fault them. Messed up the original order so offered a decent discount. Once I decided I didn’t like the Gen 7s (5-PW set) they were great in allowing me to return them (small fee) and swap them out for a 4-GW set of Gen 6s.

Very co-operative from start to finish.

Some bamboo castle tees … first time in at least 20 years .. if I tape them up I will be able to pass them on to my nephew when I stop playing
