Ordered a set of i530 irons, with lighter shafts than current set of i210. An age related concession!
Ai-ONE Milled Jailbird Mini T DB Putter from Callaway preowned.
If it’s half as good as the tri hot double wide putter I got 4 months ago I’ll be well chuffed![]()
Like you can ever have enough putters.I'm genuinely interested: if you're really happy with the putter you bought 4 months ago, why would you buy another one?
Fundamentally a decision based on face insert, combined with a comment about how good the clubs from Callaway preowned appear to be.I'm genuinely interested: if you're really happy with the putter you bought 4 months ago, why would you buy another one?
I've been looking for balls to replace the Honma TW-S which I am now running out of. I love the Honma as they seem to suit my game and, whilst soft, go farther than any other balls I've used.Having studied the latest My Golf Spy testing long and hard, I have identified which ball I want to try out next to potentially make my ball for next year.

... Wilson Triad. Seems to tick every box while being notably cheaper than the other offerings that ticked the same boxes. I have ordered a box from Snainton Golf, plus a Callaway glove chucked in to earn me free delivery. I even managed to get 10% by searching my inbox for a code, found one from back in March that surprisingly still worked even though it said 'use within 24 hours' on the email. So £37 altogether.
Going forward, if I like the ball I'll be very happy at around 30 quid a box. Nobody is rivalling it at that price anyway, my next best option was the AVX which is a bit of a jump in price. And I've liked the Vice ball this year, but I don't particularly love having to buy 3 or 5 boxes at once just to get a decent price point.
I've tried the Q-Star Tours before, and wasn't a huge fan. They're a bit softer and shorter off the tee than the Triad I think. High hopes for the Triad at the moment. I also bought them in yellow so I can find it quickly when I pull it onto the practice ground next to our 8th hole.I've been looking for balls to replace the Honma TW-S which I am now running out of. I've been doing exactly the same as you and had reduced my selection. down to the Wilson Triad and Srixon Q-Star Tour (you can get a double dozen at the moment for £50.00. I'll be interested to see how you get on with the Wilson.

I use Triad balls and really happy with them . I’m knocking on now (60)& 9.4 hcp and need a ball that gives a straight longish ball that is also spinny around the greens .Having studied the latest My Golf Spy testing long and hard, I have identified which ball I want to try out next to potentially make my ball for next year.

Pretty much what I'm looking for too!I use Triad balls and really happy with them . I’m knocking on now (60)& 9.4 hcp and need a ball that gives a straight longish ball that is also spinny around the greens .
I'm considering marking them up with the Wilson face that he draws.I’ve used the Triad since it came out and haven’t changed since, it’s a great ball with the added bonus you can shout “Wilson!?” when you hook one into the water….a la Tom Hanks from Castaway…
I've been using the Triad for a few months now. Used to use the Chrome Tour but wanted something well....cheaper.Having studied the latest My Golf Spy testing long and hard, I have identified which ball I want to try out next to potentially make my ball for next year.

The Triad is a very good golf ball indeed...seems to have relatively low driver spin so keeps reasonably straight...maybe not awfully spinny around the greens but most folk leave the ball short of the hole, so perhaps greenside spin is something that many amateurs put too much emphasis on.
Sounds perfect to me. I don't want anything too spinny or I lose distance on my irons. Moderate spin with a wedge and low spin on drives sounds good.I've been using the Triad for a few months now. Used to use the Chrome Tour but wanted something well....cheaper.

I do it regularly at the range. For some reason, on course, I hit a vicious thin.
How many of us amateurs have ever hit one of those chipshots that we see on TV, where it stops dramatically near the hole on the second or third hop?
I know you love a bargain, have you given the Taylormade RBZs a go? £18 on Amazon, appreciate you're better than me but I find they're a good alternative to the more expensive ones.Sounds perfect to me.
