Huston Huston we have a problem - new shiny alert.

Dont be too sure about the stiff shaft

Imurg has always had stiff drivers , but when he tried my regular G20 (floppy Shaft), He hit it miles
and bought the regular version after testing both.

It's true - stock G20 regular shaft is definitely stiffer than previous stock Ping shafts.
I tried the "Tour" version as well and struggled to get anywhere near the carry, even with a regular "Tour" shaft.

Just goes to prove there is no standard in shaft flex.

Isn't it about time they all came to some sort of standardisation - say a range of 1-10 with 1 being really soft and 10 being "fencepost" stiff..?

And rob them of repeat sales and annoying club pros who get paid to fit players? I think not. :)

Got to be honest.....the "regular" graphite shafts in my new Cobra's feel firmer than my old i15's regular steel.
On slightly off topic tangent, how are the cobras playing? I have my eye on a couple of sets at the moment. Either the s3 pros or the s2 forged. What shaft have you got in yours. Is it the Nippon regular?

I have the standard S3 model and they are fitted with the stock Aldila NV-3 graphite shaft in "regular".
Only played with them 3 times since I've had them. First time out (at Lefties place) I was hitting them really well. Ball was zipping off the clubface and they were definitely longer than my old i15's.
The two games that followed weren't brilliant, but that was down to me swinging like a prat (which is normal for me) rather than the clubs.
Season is winding down for me now, I hate playing in the Winter so I won't get enough use out of them over the coming months to give a subjective review. But I am happy with them, no problems.
