At last nights lesson me and the pro got on to discussing the forum average length and my current gps measured length , at this pointy he has told me I must have measured it wrong as there is no way I m that short based on how well he see's me hit the ball during lessons and on the holes where he watches me strike the ball.

Anyhow in the shop was. Few demo's the new Nike vr, g20 and cally octane so we thought we'd take them into the lesson for a comparative test.

After playing with the burner (current club) and tweaking ball position in the stance, we hit a few with a better ball flight and a nice shape, having agreed that was an improvement it was time to test run the new toys.

Nike vr, gave the impression I was looking down on a G2, very simulate lose in appearance but instantly I noticed the vr shaft was shorter that the burner. 3 balls in and 3 decent centre strikes saw this quickly dismissed! Everything felt dead and it was obvious that on carry alone the new vr was shorter than my 09 burner!

Onto the g20 and we had one issue in that they didn't have a stiff demo available as it was out on loan, looking down at the head it looked massive compared with the burner, it also had a nice deep face which was nice. Another noticeable difference was the shaft length ? Again it was around an inch shorter than the burner. So onto the performance, I only hit one as work hasn't been great this month but what can I say, This thing is awesome, I REALLY need to test a stiff version, the shorter shaft was easier to control but the flight and strike was just awesome.

I must resist ... I'm too young for a ping club to be in my bag.......

i did the same earlier in the year with the G15's. while I was waiting to pick up the JPX800 Pros, I picked up a G15 7 iron, along with a JPX800 7 iron... I started hittin the JPX and hit a few nice ones out to about 155 - 160. I picked up the G15 and immediately knocked it 15 yards past and with a beautiful ball flight. The next was exactly the same... I then put it back on the rack. It was too upsetting to carry on..

I love my G20. If you dont like the white taylor made I would say its the only other drive that you should be thinking of. It seems to be the onl other driver used on tour.

I'm 24 and I've got ping in the bag. The quality alone is worth the change, nevermind how much better they have made me play golf.
2 weeks after picking them up I won two comps on the trot and shaved 2 shots off my handicap. I would love to give the i20 a bash. It looks like the only club that could get the 910 out of my hands

Dont be too sure about the stiff shaft

Imurg has always had stiff drivers , but when he tried my regular G20 (floppy Shaft), He hit it miles
and bought the regular version after testing both.

Now he only cocks up a drive if he tries to hit the thing into oxfordshire

Fragger

My only issue with the titleist ( and any modern adjustable driver), is that if I hit one bad drive, then it either needs adjusting, or, I need another shaft. A good friend of mine, and myself, have 8 shafts between us, and rotate regularly.

Clearly the issue is not swing based? It can only be equipment based.

I wonder out of interest are there any touring pro's using regular shafts in Drivers and/or irons? (apart from possibly some lady pro's)

That's interesting dragged as the regular in the g20 felt stiffer than the project x 6.0 in the Nike ... Got to try both though, maybe the fact it was shorter gave the impression it was stiffer
