HTL

Sorry to hear that you're giving up pal! You're a cracking golfer and an even better geezer.

If you ever fancy a knock then I can knock up a set of clubs for you.

I've even got a spare bag.

You can bring your own balls though.....

I'm in that group of people that think you've got too much talent to retire.

Have a rest, by all means, but 'retire' is too definite.

As for being an addicted pay and player, it works out cheap enough if you play once or twice a month at member's guests rates.

As for that difference between bounce games and the medals - that's easily sorted when you come back to the fold.

In the mean time, I hope everything goes great for you, and tbh a good relationship with the good women is definitely more important that golf. For the first five years at least.

After that long, you'll be gagging for it again

Good luck with the plans mate, I hope it all goes well for you and your betrothed.

I sincerely hope we'll knock it round together again at some point. After all, we're unbeaten :D

Sad to hear, but quite understand the reasoning. Can't quite imagine you on the tennis court. Is it done to smoke and play tennis at the same time?

Pity you have sold the sticks, I would have kept them for the reasons Vig gave.

Good luck with the wedding and house buying etc.

You're a fine player with a natural ability, hopefully you'll return to the game when you get your sh*t sorted.

Shouldn't have sold your clubs (that's what the cupboard under the stairs is for) as you'll have to buy some new ones now! :)

Does Homer have this effect on everyone he plays with?

In defence of Selling his gear, I did the same when I had to pack up because of my back.

If I hadnt I know I would have been too tempted to play or go down the range and do myself a mischief so I suppose the same applies here, if the gear is there, so is the temptation.

The only thing I wish I didnt sell was my vokeys.

Sorry to hear that you're giving up pal! You're a cracking golfer and an even better geezer.

I'll second that. Mate - don't stay away from the game too long - when you're back or just fancy a game, give me a shout. I want you back playing in time for next years Longest Day Challenge - it won't be the same without you otherwise!

As to the near future, all the very best with the wedding and house.

Such a shame Hywel.
Homer is now going to have to look for another opening line for his blogs instead of " Played at the weekend with my long suffering partner Hywel"!!!! lol :o :o :D

Only kidding Homer! :D
