How's your course looking?

Played at mine today and I must say the course is much better than I expected. A little wet underfoot in places but generally the fairways and greens were very good. No temporary greens and only a few mats on the tees.
 
Still covered in snow apparently. We must have some sort of micro climate around our course. Practically everywhere else locally is either open or planning to open tomorrow!!!

Although it's not their fault, it's not a good time for this to happen just as the members are pondering whether to renew their memberships right at this moment.
 
Course opened yesterday - no snow around here any more. Played 9 today on 'Cromwell' course. No run on ball but greens not bad considering. 4 temp greens on Crown course, reckon fairways there should be okay. Looking forward to playing regularly again.

Ours has opened today.

Been itching for a game so I was like a kid in a sweet shop with the online booking system.

Playing tomorrow, Sat, Sun, and Mon.

Didn't want to go overboard and book Friday as well :o
I might change my mind if I play well tomorrow.
 
Rang the course this morning.
Course closed due to snow and ice, next inspection Friday morning! :(

That bugs the hell out of me and is something our club did before Christmas to avoid bringing in the casual kitchen staff for the weekend. A sign went up on a Thursday evening saying course closed till Monday at earliest! We went and played at a course 6 miles away that same weekend.

How can they forecast conditions like that?? Why isn't it inspected every day?? Regardless of whether they open it up, it should be assesed on a daily basis at least. :mad:
 
Website for mine says it's closed today and tomorrow. Hopefully it will be open by the weekend, I haven't played for about two months, and I've got new bats I want to christen.

Played 15 today, all we have when on temps. Course in good nick though, and it was mild with no wind. Fog came in just as we finished. My partner and i had a nice 5/4 win, and had lunch bought for me so can't be bad.
 
Grrrr i'm jealous of all you people getting out to play. Phoned my local course this afternoon and they reckon it still might not be able to open at the weekend because they reckon there is still alot of snow and ice and on the course! so they can't risk due to "health and safety" theres hardly any bloody snow left anywhere at all but at the course it seems.

Does anyone know of any course's in the north east that are open or likely to be open tomorrow or at the weekend?
 
Back 9 is open but very wet apparently, all greens are open.

Front 9 is waterlogged and they don't think it will be open until Saturday, as we have a comp on.

Supposed to be playing Sunday, so fingers crossed.
