It's been biblical here for almost two full days. It's coming straight down now. Lightening forecaste for later along with the continued rain until midnight. Then more rain (just who is this blasted woman????) for the next three days, cumulating in a horrendous downpour and lightening on Sunday.

(My comp might be off)

well the River Ness was almost bursting its banks last night, 3 weeks ago you could walk across it in town with just wellies on

What rain? Had nothing too bad here. Just gale force winds. Looks like rain over the weekend though sadly.
Virtually none here too.
We've had a fraction of the normal amount since Spring, even since Summer "broke" area weeks back.
Everywhere is still very dry and the duck ponds in town are slowly drying out again.

Currently 30* and cracking the flags here. Sat with my religious friend, SanMiguel.

Forecast for the next week, more of the same.

Similar, rumour has it there's a cloud expected to pass in a couple of days so we're organising a bit of a group viewing thingy... but we've been told not to look directly at it without protective glasses

When I played at the Zoo this morning I was sloshing about the fairways and we hadn't had much rain overnight.

We're on clay and I think it got baked solid in the summer.
Now, water can't soak in so it sits on top and waits to evaporate.
If we get a spell of continuous rain I can see the course being underwater in no time.
Greenkeepers are Verti-draining all fairways in a couple of weeks - with a bit of luck that will help.
Got a weekend of rain due - allegedly - so next week could be interesting

Ours drains very well but ball was picking mud up yesterday .
We should have put preffered lies on in hindsight.
Played very long as it’s a bit softer now.

1st big rain in the new house and we found out that 1 drain was totally blocked, and 2 were not attached properly. Thankfully the previous owner left a big ladder so I managed to (temporarily?) fix it. I have no idea why there are so many stones at the bottom of the downpipes, do they belong there? I took them out because they blocked the leaves falling through.

On a positive note, we tried to seed some lawn last week, and the watering is now taken care off. And the car is clean(wish) again.
