I am hoping someone can help me here with my handicap.

I recently changed clubs and during that time I played a tournament at my new club before my handicap could be moved over. I was on 9.4 after the competition I had a .1 added on which took me up to 10 and then my handicap was officially moved over on the website. All this was fine then last night I have an email notificiation to say my handicap has changed and it now reads 9/AWAY.

Any idea what this means considering last week I was up to 9.5/10 and now suddenly its changed and I havent played a competition since the .1 was added.

Thanks

At which club does it say 9/Away ? The new one or old one ?

With a C next to it. However my new club also has a C next to it.

It appears your handicap is still with your old club

Your handicap needs moved to your new club

Speak to your club sec

HowDidIDo is not the 'Master' copy of the system in the way that 'HandicapMaster' is.

HandicapMaster is Internet based, so that's the Master system.

HowDidIDo is merely an extract from the Master system which is on your Club PC Club2000 system. It's only refreshed when someone decides to do so.

Once your new club receives your latest result, and it may already have done so, and another comp is closed and Published the Handicap list will automatically be shipped up to HDID. Alternatively, just the handicap list can be shipped - if a load of updates have been entered/received.

If your old club is on HDID, then same applies.

You might be best to get in touch with your new club's handicap sec and mention what has happened. Almost certain to have happened before - and all be part of the transition. Until you get it changed, I believe you must play off 9 though! It's you that has to tell your club(s) about changes.

HTH

Btw. The 'C' simply means that you have returned sufficient cards within the last year (3) to maintain an Active (Competition) handicap.

The problem will probably lie with your old club's failure to remove you from their handicap list. What happens then is that your new club updates to CDH and you show as a Home Player. Then, if your old club updates to CDH with you still on their list you revert to being their Home player and appearing on your new club as an Away player. This batting back and forward as each club updates will continue until your old club removes you from their list. I know this from bitter experience.

Actually, that's a much more likely cause. My knowledge was pre CDH. Presumably, an update to CDH by the old club has triggered the Email.

As your real Home club should have you as 9.5/10, that's what you can play off. But worth checking with your H/S.

My comments about HDID v your Club system are still correct though. A Supplementary Score, for example, is not reflected on HDID until either a Comp or the Handicap list is 'Published'.
