I was forced in to clearing a space in the garage last weekend and in doing so it suddenly dawned on me that I have 4 sets of clubs which I have collected over the years!

I still have my original Wilson 1200 GE's which I loan out to friends from time to time. My 21st birthday present from my parents was a lovely set of Mizuno TP 9's which I'll never get rid of (partly because I would probably be lucky to get £25 for them!). I also still have my mint condition Maxfli Revolutions which I bought in 1997, which I kept just in case I went back to them having bought my current set of Ping i3 blades. Along with the set's of irons are 4 golf bags, a multitude of ping putters and several drivers marking the progress development of driver technology over the last 15 years!

It's just as well they're at the bottom of the garage and the washing machine / tumble dryer is at the top end (the wife hasn't noticed - yet!).

How many sets do you have!? Or are you like me and just can't bring yourself to part company with them!?

Still got a set of Maxfli Australian Blades. They are covered with small dents. Should have got some iron covers :D :D

I am going to be using them this weekend. A mate who gave up the game after a bad car crash is coming to visit. Think i will give him my R7's and we will have a game weather permitting

I used iron covers with my Revolutions - hence the "mint". They were a great club when your game was on song - not quite as forgiving as the Ping!

What ever happened to Maxfli!? Did they go bust or were they bought out? The Australian blades were lovely - but out of my price range at the time!

Usual load of old drivers, wedges and putters, not worth anything, but can't just chuck them.

I have two identical sets of irons. One set I bought new, and the other £80 from ebay. Useful to have two sets in case one gets nicked. Might take ages to find another set I like, and during that time I couldn't play. I have one set, in a bag, with an old driver, fairway, putter, and a couple of wedges, some tees etc ready to go at the back of the wardrobe just in case. This is also the set I take on holiday, in case the baggage gets lost or damaged.

Talking of taking clubs on holiday, does anyone know how much this would cost roughly? I go to spain later in the year and plan to play twice.... if it works out the same as the club hire from the course I may as well fly my little babies out with me.

I think i'm flying with Iberia, i'll check the website.

Would much rather use my own clubs but then I cant use the "i would have played much better with my own clubs" excuse.

Minty, I'm looking at this myself at the moment. BA even had an advert in last months GM stating free travel for clubs(I think). You may get lucky as Iberia are part of a partners scheme with BA so worth checking with them.

For anyone with extra equipment they don't use then why not give it to the local charity shop? they can always turn around golf clubs and they'll always be grateful for them.

Ive only ever owned two sets and the first went to an animal shelter and rehoming charity in Ramsgate, Kent.

Hope they made some good money on them and someone else is enjoying them now.

for info, club hire at la Quinta is 46 Euro (I've just reserved a set). Since I have the opportunity for just one round its not worth taking my clubs - also no room in the car. Still it gives me a chance to try out some other irons before i buy new.

Too many clubs around here. Then again I have 2 lawnmowers and 3 cars and 4 tv's. The trouble with me is that I'd rather give stuff away than sell it for pennies.

Wilson 1200....I remember these. I bought a set of Wilson "Wave" once....for £35 from a golf store. Turned out to be ladies. The store wouldn't refund my money......said they were "fit for purpose".

Not got any full sets but seemed to have acquired four bags (the one I'm using and 3 others) 4 umbrellas 5 putters and a 3 and 5 wood

I've got 4 practice bags full of balls all marked (had to mark your own balls at my own club when using the practice ground so drew red lines around mine). Must have inthe region of 300 practice balls I'm never going to use (mostly Titleist too)

I also seem to be acquiring balls for general play. Have 2 dozen Pro V's a dozen Srixon URC's a dozen TM Reds and a dozen Callaway HX's

Not sure where it has all come from
