I'm usually only able to play in the once a month "monthly medals". The tee closes for the weekly "midweek medal" at 5pm, so that screws any chance i have of entering those as i don't finish work 'til 5. so, as it stands, i can only play a maximum of 12 medals a year, plus the club's open champs. So far this year, i've only managed 1 medal.

I'm going to have a word about the tee times for the weekly medal as i don't think it's fair on those who have to work, but still want to keep the cards going in.

I was up playing the course last night while the medal was still going on and people were asking me why i wasn't playing in the medal!

How many medals do you play?

Hi,
Almost all the golf i play is in comps and i would play at least 1 a week for the year that would include open comps which we try to play in one of them at least once a month.
Mike

There is usually at least one per fortnight at my club, but generally over summer one per week.

I dont know till I play in them, but I have done 3 so far this year and Im playing for the team on sat and Ive had a couple of friendly challenges(do they count?)

I played in three comps and one match so far. Came forth in the rabbits jub trophy and should have easly walked it but three putted about 4 times.

At our club we have comps on every weekend both saturdays & Sunday's plus a mid week comp as well as Rabbits, Tigers and scratch teams through the week, I also can not play through the week and don't have a chance on the order of merit as I only play once a weekend and really you have to be playing both weekend days to get the points.

Like to play every comp going , usually one medal and one stableford per month plus one m/w medal. Then all the board comps through the summer and a few opens on courses that are good value. Also a few of our work regional and national qualifiers

Medals every week at Ranfurly Castle, or I can head across the water and play at Rothesay if they have something tastey on over there.

I also have alot of work golf medals, 8-10 a year minimum.

Last year I played in 25 qualifiers and probably another 10 non qualifiers. This year will probably be a few more qualifiers as the sunday roll up now qualifies. So maybe 40 comps a year.

We have one monthly medal and one monthly stableford at weekends every month and during the most part (March - October) a weekly medal and stableford. On top of that there is the singles matchplay knockout and a host of gold letter events. Finally there are the inter-club matches.

I play in everyone possible so I am always defending my handicap and challenging my game. 9/10 the course wins but just once in a while I'll go out in +3 gross (last weekend in a medal!) or sneak a top 3 finish (last medal and stableford)

I can only play about 20 Saturdays a year, so ave' only 4 medals a year, sadly.

Play up to 10 stablefords (that's 14 Saturdays total) and that's it for me.

I play up to 30 (out of 52) times on Sunday, these are mostly roll-ups with prizes and the odd official comp....

So, total 40-ish per year.....that's about 35 buffers!!! :D

We have at least one comp every weekend and I enter pretty much all of them (except those with a handicap restriction). For the bank holiday there are 3 comps, medal, stapleford and bogey and would ideally like to enter all 3 and see if I can bring my handicap down.

Every Saturday medal. Medal once a month on a Wednesday and the other 3 weeks are Optional Sweeps.

Plus Opens, Matchplay and team games.

Andy

We have Saturday comp off the Yellows, Sunday comps off the whites from Feb to Nov. Medal usually from March to Sept one a month. From May we run a mid week comp.

Throw in a winter league and a few fourball comps during the year together with individual matchplay and a doubles matchplay so there ample scope to play in as many comps as you wish.
