How many comps do you play in?

We have a Medal and Stableford comp every month throughout the year. During the winter months I play in the winter league along with 5 other clubs home and away, matchplay format, culminating in a Gala Day with a presentation and meal afterwards.

A few other comps - strugglers cup for 18+ handicaps, course championship, which is over Saturday and Sunday, and of course Captains day, always look forward to that.

I do enjoy practice and social rounds, but you can't beat the buzz of a competitive round to try and get the handicap down.

I don't play in many at all. I'm at a club that has a stapleford every week and numerous medal competitions but I never have a consistent / constant time during the week which I can devote to golf so when I do find I can make a competition it is at late notice (unless I specifically arrange myself weeks before to ensure I'm free) meaning I don't have any partners! Social rounds are different as I often turn up and play with whoever is there (there is always another single / group to join up with which is good), or at late notice me and those I usually play with will just turn up and play, but with having to organise tee times etc for comps we can't do this. It's a shame although the situation should change in a couple of months so I will be able to get to the club for comps much easier.
