Not at you golf club, on the TV.
You know the sort that asks you the really hard questions
like
Who starred in The Terminator?
Was it
Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Arnold Palmer
Geoffrey Palmer?

Has anyone entered those comps and actually won anything more valuable than a pen?
(I've just been watching the gadget show who asked what the freezing point of water was)

NEVER ! I'm guessing they make so much on the calls that they make a profit....from what I've heard plenty get it wrong though

I have entered the Gadget show one a couple of times as that prize is just too hard to resist. Otherwise no, never entered anything else on TV in fact other than that I never enter comps that cost me money (aside from charity raffles)

The sister of one of the guys in our roll up won thire Christmas prize the other week. 10K worth of electronic goodies on a 3.5 tonner on two pallets rolled up outside her house in Putney. You name it and it was in there. He's hoping for something seriously good for Chrimbo!

None, and they really annoy me. Everyone ringing in pays for the prizes, and a nice profit for the competition organizers. They should be forced to show how much they make in total on the calls, against what they are giving as a prize. Then joe public will reallse they are being ripped off.:sbox:

Is it a different freezing point in Scotland?

In March 2003 I appeared on WWTBAM , did the silly wave thing but I never won a million! :(

Kept the video for nostalgic reasons and a nice photo of me with Tarrant. Was quite an experience.

How do you come to that conclusion? If I choose to make a call and it costs me £1 with the chance of winning a prize worth thousands of pounds, it's hardly a rip off.

A few years ago these 'competitions' were going to be investigated as, technically, they weren't a competition - more a lottery. The reasoning behind this was that pretty much everyone would know the answer so there was no real 'competition' as such. Thus, it simply became a lottery as to who was picked out.

I guess that with the answers to pretty much any question (such as will Palace win the Europa League next season??) available in an instance on Google, etc, the questions themselves become rather redundant.
