How many 3 pointers?

Stablefords ARE normal South of Hadrian's Wall!

Not where I play (Filton GC in Bristol) Stableford social golf but all but 1 or 2 comps are medals.

I had a 6 pointer once. Was playing off 26 (and had taken quite a few months to reach that level!). Eagled a par 5 with 2 shots. Long drive, good approach to about 10 feet off the green, and perfect chip.

Didn't go down terribly well with my playing partners.

I was just having one of those dream rounds. I had 28 points after 9 holes, and the friendly banter and "bandit" comments had stopped being quite as friendly. Then normality kicked in and I only got 10 points on the back 9.

On a decent day I'd expect a couple of birdies and out of the six shot holes would maybe hope to par 3 or 4 of them. So around 5 or 6 would be a good day....usually balanced with the odd single and maybe a blob or two.

Slight diversion, but I wonder if anyone can beat my 102 medal score with 9 pars.... (yes, it was only 18 holes)

I think the lower players, who have reached something of a plateau will mostly be getting 2 pointers, with the odd 1 & 3 pointers.
Those who are slightly higher, and/or on the way down will be more 1 & 3 pointers.

This ^^ I once had 11 3 pointers and a 4 pointer in one round. Still only 41 points because of inconsistency. I aim for and expect 6-9 in any round. I am inconsistent at best.

I played on Saturday and had 7 three pointers, 6 two pointers and 1 single point hole, the other 4 were blobs.
Like a few others previously my scores could be so much better / handicap lower by eliminating the odd couple of bad holes.

Played Redbourn GC 15 years ago in my local golf society off 24 & shot 51 points. Must have had a few 3 & 4's in that bundle. Never played off 20+ again in my life...

How many 3 points holes would you expect or be looking to get in a Stableford game.

I played with a 28 handicapper on Sunday and he had 7 in his morning round and 6 in the afternoon.
We were having a little laugh and discussion about it walking down the 16th fairway and I mentioned that I had never scored a card with as many 3 pointers as I had so far,so he went and got 4 points on a 175 yard par 3 where he had 2 shots.

He only had 38 and 31 so had a lot of blobs and 1 pointers also.

Played stableford yesterday. Not a great round, driver not great, missed a ton of putts(didn't get a birdie due to that), was 8 over after 4(doh!), also had 7 pars on the trot (only just noticed that).

Anyway scored 35 points, with 7 3's, two blobs and 4 1's and the rest 2's. Would say that isn't to far from the normal from me.

Think I'm pretty steady , just been looking at some medal rounds last year and averaging 3 a round. In bounce games , yeah will probably get more, had 6 yesterday .
